I've decided to make my journal a little more private ...just because. I'm not aware of that many people interested in reading about my life anyway (as my current Flist filled with people will attest to), so I'm not sure that this is really going to make a difference to anyone other than me, but EH, it's my journal so there. I will still make some public posts, BUT if you would like to read my hidden journal I invite you to ask me to friend you and I will gladly add you to give you access to read the fascinating quips and quirks that are my crazy life with my loving husband (LH) and my boys (in my user icon). They are the bulk of my posts anyway other than my job (not very exciting fodder, but I'm kinda boring in that way). I try to post funny and other interesting things on occasion and will comment when time/need to voice my opinion prompts me. I'm more of a voyeur than a lurker although that might be the same thing.

I realize at this point that I'm posting random thoughts now ...and that's the bulk of what my journal is - me randomly babbling and regurgitating coherent and incoherent thoughts that spill out of my head. So if that's what you're into, please add me. I'll add you back.

If you're not an LJ user already - what's wrong with you? Set up a basic free account and become a lemming like the rest of us! You don't want to miss out on my next exciting adventure do you?

EDIT: Thanks to LJ's new policies, I'm sorry you can't be a lemming unless you pay.
Speaking of random thoughts, in the spirit of Halloween coming up, here's something random I thought I'd share - just so you know when I'll stop posting.

Daycare drama - week 4

I picked Jacob up for his doctor appointment on Wednesday, just before they were going to call me to tell me that he had a fever of 101 degrees. Lovely. My poor baby is still not beter since he first got sick.

Daycare called later to tell me that another baby has RSV and another went home with a fever too. again. Lovely. No wonder my baby isn't better.

Round 2 of antibiotics - Azithormycin this time. Plus an inhaler to help with the cough and wheezing. Poor thing. He's so stuffed up. He and daddy have acute bronchitis.

Doctor says he can't go to daycare for 24-48 hours. Thankfully Lenka was available and came to watch him Thursday and Friday. It was good to see and talk to her. Now that Jacob is in daycare I realize how much she spoiled us by coming to the house to take care of him.

Jacob is still not better so I'm keeping him home Monday and Tuesday. Thankfully Lenka is still available and willing. Looks like I'm going to have to reschedule his appointment on Wednesday with Dr. Gupta for the third time. This is like a catch 22. He needs the rest of his vaccinations so he doesn't get sick, but he's sick so can't get the rest of his vaccinations.

I'm still not better either; coughing still. But life doesn't stop just because I'm sick. Sigh.

Day care Week 3 under the belt

I am consistently getting the following comments from all of the people at Jacob's school:

He's such a good baby!
He's so patient and happy!

I always reply with a proud smile and, "I know!".

Accomplishments: Jacob drew his first picture on Monday, Jan. 18. Not much really, but still. (Scan of it to come).

He's rocking back and forth on his hands and knees. I think he's getting ready to crawl - maybe.

Jacob is just about over his first cold. He still has a runny nose and occasional cough, but he's doing much better. Amoxicillan is all gone. And we discovered while at the doctor's office last Saturday that he has gotten his first 2 bottom teeth! I think now he's starting on the top front two.

New food this week: chicken. He does NOT like chicken.

He goes for his 6th month well baby check up (a little late) this Friday and more shots.

I am feeling more and more the need to squish my boy as I get less and less time to do so since now we have more help.

Day care drama - Week 2 ends

Week 2 of day care ended on Thursday because my little man was just too sick by Friday morning; coughing, thicker boogers and more sneezing. Took him to the doctors on Saturday. That was an adventure because I still don't have my voice from being sick. Had to have my new helper (Casey) be my voice. Amoxicillan, more liquids, and rest and he seems to be doing better.

Day care drama begins - Week 1

So my sweet 7 month old baby Jacob began day care/school this week. I wish we didn't have to start him yet (doctor recommended not starting him until he was a year old), but Lenka, his nanny, has gone home to Czech for 3 weeks, leaving us with no other choice. I'm glad we set this up beforehand though.

Day 1 - "He lights up the room with his smile!" from his new teacher Ms. Stacey

Day 2 - "He's such a well adjusted baby"
First item of clothing lost - dark blue hooded dinosaur jacket that Grammie bought him; another baby had same 3 piece outfit

Day 3 - "He giggles and it makes everyone laugh and smile"

Day 4 - starting to sniffle (uh oh)
puked and made a mess big enough to need outfit changed
missing hoodie is found - other parent had been given it

Day 5 - "what a happy baby" (from another parent walking out with their kid)
big explosion must have happened, was told teacher had to wash him in the sink. evidence when I got home: 3 piece green velour outfit Grammie bought him has poo all over the onesie part.
Coughing and sneezing - poor baby has his 1st cold. What a way to end his first week.

I'm back...yes? maybe. I think.

Oh LJ how I've missed you. I have been cheating on you with FB all these months because it's so much easier to post a quick status from my BB while driving even though all I want to do is ramble along in my brain on LJ. So much has happened in these many months that I've been away. Where to begin? Where did I leave off?

So why am I on here today? Because I'm in the backseat of my car on my way to NC to grandma's house for Thanksgiving with Jacob asleep in his carseat and the LH in the driver's seat. Thank God for aircards and for an awesome little boy! I'm sure I'm going to pay tonight for letting him sleep right now but it can't be helped.

Oh yes, I had a baby for those of you who missed it. May 24, 2009. 5 weeks early. 6 lbs. 4 oz. He's now 19 lbs. 10 oz., my big boy.

Anyway, that's it for now.... FB is calling...LOL

Bonne année!
